Message pretty damn good. I don't know how old mine is. Its the one that came with my car and I've had it for 2 years. I drive my car a lot though, so I've really put 50,000 miles on the car since I've had it. I don't use A/C very often, we have very nice weather down here in Florida, so the T-Tops come off often. I would say that the A/C is the big killer of batteries. Our old grand am went through batteries every 3 years and it had bad A/C problems. My beetle had gone through 3 batteries in 5 years. I really killed the first two though. I had electrical problems for a while and killed alternators (lifetime warrantee, gotta love it). When I replaced all the wire looms in the car, and switched the batteries, I never had a charging problem again. I even had the car sitting for a few years (running it around the block maybe once a month) and the battery never lost the charge. So, there are many factors that would come into play with a batteries life, climate is one of them. I'd say, for Canada, 5 years is phenominal.
